How to Report Your Student's Absences

Reporting the absence using our SchoolMessenger Attendance Reporting System
 
Or using the smartphone Mobile Application (download via app store):

         📱Google Play: SchoolMessenger (note: once download is complete “Switch location – Canada”)

Quick Steps using the SchoolMessenger Mobile App 
  1. Log in with your SchoolMessenger credentials.
  2. Select “Messages” from the menu to see all messages sent by your child’s school and SD20 District School Board
  3. Select “Attendance” from the menu to report absences
  4. Click the plus icon to “Report an Absence” for your child
  5. Select your child’s name 
  6. Select which type of absence is applicable
  7. Choose a reason for the absence 
  8. Select the date from the calendar. If your child will be arriving late to school or leaving early, please include the time of day.
  9. Click the “Send” button to complete the report absence process.

Manage Preferences in the SchoolMessenger Mobile App 
 

In SchoolMessenger Preferences you can control the delivery of messages for each of your points of contact.

 

For each point of contact you can enable or disable the icon for voice, text message or email.

  • A green icon indicates that the point of contact is set to receive notifications for one or more message preference types (as described below in Message Preferences).
  • A grey icon indicates that all message preference types are disabled for the point of contact.
  • A red border indicates a phone number for which SchoolMessenger is still pending permission to call.
